Merry Christmas from me to you

Published on Thursday, December 25, 2014

Christmas has always been and will be my favorite holiday. I can vividly remember coming home from mass on Christmas Eve with the kitchen smelling like freshly cooked porridge. My family would gathered around the dining table as we wait until the clock strike 12 to open presents.
It is still a meaningful tradition that we carried on til this day, but even so, I didn't think much of it when I was younger. As materialistic as it sounds, Christmas meant receiving the toys I wanted most that year from Santa. Don't get me wrong, presents are great to give and receive and it is still something I look forward to. But as I've gotten older, Christmas holds a much more deeper meaning to me than just presents and lights.  It is a time for me to feel fortunate that I have a family to celebrate the holidays with. The pleasure to hear my loved ones laughter. The chance to lounge around in comfy pj's watching movies with my cousins. The way hot chocolate taste after a long day of celebration. The fuzzy socks I get to wear on cold winter nights. The home cooked family dinners I get to eat with my parents. All the Christmas songs I get to hear on the KOST for a whole month (and my sister's annoying singing..shhh don't tell her I said that) Although December seems to be the coldest time of the year, yet it is a month where I feel the most love and warmth (okay that was cheesy, but really) In the holiday spirit, I want to sincerely wish you a Merry Christmas filled not only with joy and laughter, but lots of love too. I hope you received everything you wanted on your wishlist and much more.
Sending love and warmth your way...
Love, Vivian.
